Joseph Burton-Harris driving for Moses Smith Texas Autosports dominated the Formula Mazda race at Road America Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on Saturday. In fog and mist the track was recovering from rain conditions making the tire choice critical and complex.
JBH used his karting experience and asked the team for dry tires (slicks), backed by his team owner Moses Smith. Joseph has proven his talent in the rain so they took the gamble to survive the slippery track with no margin for error – and it paid off. Only the 1 Formula 1000 entrant finished in front of Joseph at the chequered flag.
17-year old Joseph Burton-Harris, a native Australian now living in the States, went out on slicks in the No. 132 GMG Mobility/Sydney Sports Formula Mazda and absolutely pummeled the field, finishing second overall and 1:47.669 ahead of second place in class.” SCCA Media
