The inside tour at the Verizon IndyCar Series Firestone 600

If you have ever dreamed your dreams came true, well it happened Saturday night when Texas Autosports Moses Smith took Joseph Burton-Harris on the inside tour of Penske Motorsport and the Verizon IndyCar Series at the Fort Worth Texas Firestone 600.

Standing on the IndyCar grid before the race…at Texas Motor Speedway…with a WFAA-TV, Channel 8,┬áTV camera following me down the grid asking me questions having just completed an interview in the media center…cars being pushed around us as if we were just as important as they were…shaking hands with Will Power before he gets in the car…watching Roger Penske take the time to walk the grid shaking hands with all his teams, staff and crew…with Penske crew taking their valuable time to talk to us about the difficulties of this particular race…a DREAM it definitely seemed to be but it was actually REAL.” explains Joseph Burton-Harris

As an up and coming driver whose only dream is to drive an IndyCar this experience was incredible. It certainly appears from the TV telecasts that IndyCar make a special effort to welcome fans, families and racers alike into their world – even though they are the pinnacle of open-wheel racing in the USA – and the reality is – they do exactly that. Moses Smith took Joseph into the depths of IndyCar workings showing how the teams prepare for the race on race day; manage media commitments as Joseph himself had to complete an interview in the media centre; manage the fans as they constantly approached Will Power while he spoke with Joseph about his plans.

Joseph would like to thank Moses; Penske and Will Power for enabling him to experience this at such a critical time in his own career as he prepares for Formula Mazda races at Road America and Kansas Speedway in June. As he prepares for a Pro-Mazda campaign commencing 2016, just 2 steps away from IndyCar, this experience enabled him to really see the world he so desperately wants to excel in.

Those of you who have not experienced IndyCar first hand – take the time to see and listen for yourself. You will always remember it!
